This process includes:
-
Year 9 transition Days
-
Year 10 and 11 LINKS course
-
6th Form open and transition days
-
Applications for post-16 educaton
-
Annual meetings with the Island's Career Guidance Counsellor
-
Work Experience
From Year 10, students are given the chance to experience life at the Guernsey Institute, participating in their 'LINKS' course. Here students can take part in either the construction carousel; child development & care; health & social care and health and beauty courses. They will attend this course once a week for 3 hours. Please access the College website for further information regarding the LINKS course.
In addition to college, students are also provided the option to experience the world of work through GWEX. Students will gain valuable skills such as communication, reliability and responsibility. A variety of work placements are available in different sectors including retail, hospitality, childcare and various trades. Please access the Guernsey Careers website for more information regarding work experience
