In Outdoor Education, we aim to give students the opportunity to try a variety of outdoor and adventurous activities throughout the school year that they may not previously have had access to.
At KS2 and KS3, students explore the island and enjoy the outdoors with team-building games and class-wide challenges across Guernsey. They take part in geocaching; bushcraft (which includes fire building and den making); as well as indoor wall climbing and archery. Students also work towards the Junior Award Scheme for Schools (JASS).
At KS4 there are multiple pathways for qualification to ensure success, no matter a student's starting point.
Pathway A: Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award
Pathway B: Public Services Level 1
Students also work towards their power-boating award with the Guernsey Sailing Trust. Previously, they have also had the opportunity to enjoy kayaking, coasteering, paddle boarding and abseiling with the Guernsey Sports Commission.
