History is a vitally important subject, which offers insight into both the past and the future. At Les Voies, students study History to learn skills in order to make inferences; understand causation and consequences; assess the reliability of information and to understand and appreciate the global, local and recent history.

At KS2 and KS3 students cover a variety of topics including:

  • Prehistory

  • The Ancient World

  • The Golden Age of Islam

  • World War One and Two

  • The Holocaust

At KS4 there are multiple pathways for qualification to ensure success, no matter a student's starting point. Within the Edexcel’s IGCSE History (4Hi1) qualification, students learn about topics including: The changing nature of warfare (1919-2011); Weimar and Nazi Germany; Superpower relations; The Cold War and The Vietnam Conflic.

Pathway A: Year 10 & 11 - Edexcel iGCSE History (4Hi1)

Pathway B: 1 Year of History (ASDAN), 1

KS4 Students at Les Voies have recently had the opportunity to attend an overseas school trip to Berlin where they experienced a number of historical sights.
