At Les Voies, KS4 students are given the opportunity to work towards the 'BTEC Level 1 or 2 Health & Social Care' qualification.

 

The subject focuses on health and social care environments. This could include working with vulnerable groups of people including children, the elderly and those with physical or learning difficulties. Students explore the different roles within these environments such as paramedics, carers, nurses and care workers as well as the skills, qualities and qualifications required to work in these careers. 

 

Students will complete the following 4 units:

• Human lifespan development

• The impact of nutrition on health and wellbeing

• Communication

• Care values in health and social care 

​

3 units will be internally assessed with the addition of 1 written exam.
