Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
In Outdoor Education, we aim to give students the opportunity to try a variety of outdoor and adventurous activities throughout the school year.
Students work towards the John Muir Explorer Award and they learn about conservation in the island
KS 2 &3
Students are able to do the John Muir Discover Award & JASS Award as well as, swimming, snorkelling, bush craft skills and dingy sailing.
Students will work towards the Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award.
This years awards as outlined below:
Selected students in key stage 4 have been successful in achieving the Prince's Trust XL Award in personal development and employ ability skills.
Selected students this year are completing the 2 year Prince's Trust XL certificate in personal development and employ ability skills. (Equivalent of 2 GCSEs)
Students in key stage 1-4 have achieved the John Muir Discover, Explorer and Conserve Level Awards.
A group of KS4 students are working towards powerboat level 1.
A group of KS4 have completed the bronze D of E award.
A group of KS4 students are just completing the bronze D of E award and all year 10 students are working towards bronze.
A group of KS3 students are working towards bronze level JASS (junior award scheme for schools) award.
A group of KS3 students have completed NICAS level 1 (indoor climbing).
Each year Les Voies participates in the Extreme Classroom. This year two of Les Voies students went to the Deepest Classroom.
